Kennesaw mountain battle

Kennesaw mtn. battle was against the union and the confederates. The union general was William T. Sherman ,and he led an estimate of 100,000 soldiers into battle. The confederate general was Joseph Johnston ,and he lead an estimate of 60,000 men. The Kennesaw mtn. battle was a confederate victory. The union had 3,000 casualties, and the confederate had 1,000 casualties.

The Confederates wanted to protect their supply chain and the railroads in Atlanta. They set up defensive positions around Kennesaw Mountain using fortifications and trenches around the area. General Sherman of the Union who lost approximately three thousand men, including generals Harker and McCook, eventually said that the Kennesaw Mountain battle was the hardest fight of the Atlanta campaign.

This battle gave the confederate army a victory in Georgia , they made sure that the union army wasn't able to cross through out the 10 mile defenses from Kennesaw Mountain to Kolb's farm . Even though the confederate army was victorious general William T. Sherman didn't give up his will and moved though the sides. This battle was one of the bloodiest in the Atlanta campaign . It allowed the confederacy to protect some of its supply line.

2.Cannons were a major use in this battle , specially the napoleon 2 pound Smoothebore named after king napoleon the third of France.
3. Soon after the war; slaves , free slaves , Rich farmers, and poor people created a program in the park called "people in line for change".
